What do you do with your hair at night to sleep?

I think it's a black thing.

I have longish straight hair- a couple inches past my shoulders. I just sleep with it down most of the time, maybe in a loose ponytail in the summer.

I’m surprised so many people are bothered by the feel of their hair at night. If you are bothered by your hair at night, would you describe yourself as having other sensitivities also, like maybe to wool or socks with seams? I’m wondering if this is more a general sensitivity issue rather than just an issue of being annoyed by the feeling of one’s own hair.

High loose my tail/bun. Slightly longer than shoulder length hair. I just can’t stand it in my face during the night so it goes up.

Waist length curly hair, I am white. If I shower at night, a high pineapple to protect my curls for the next day. If showering the next morning, I just put it in a low ponytail or braid so it doesn't make me nuts while sleeping

My hair is currently around bra strap length, but has been as long as hip. I dont do anything special BUT I never just sleep on it willy nilly. I am a side sleeper with my arm under the pillow. I will swing my hair behind my head/over top of my head to rest on/behind the pillow.

I don't like my hair touching my face or neck or skin really at night, as I can get a little clammy and that ruins my styling.

For me, it’s not the feel of my hair, it’s my peri hormones that make everything feel hot. So yes, when my hair is down at night it feels very warm against my skin. When it’s up I’m much more comfortable. I also sleep in a tank top and shorts 365.

When I was younger I never pulled my hair up at night.

I hate my hair in my face at night. I toss and turn all night from my back to my left side I have to adjust my hair its totally obnoxious and its not even that long. I feel like I'm wrestling with it If I leave it down.

No, I don't have those issues. I use a loose scrunchie because I don't want my hair all over the place. It's uncomfortable.

A lot of these answers do sound like people with sensory issues.

Yes, it’s been a black thing for a long time because of the need to protect the curls. It’s also a white thing if you have curls that you don’t want to restyle every single day. Friction on the pillow case causes frizz. A satin bonnet decreases frizz.
