This whole conversation is stupid, because why would a college have a policy centered around accepted/unaccepted beliefs. If a Chinese student calls Taiwan a fake country, I see no reason for them to be kicked out. If a Russian student wants to say Ukraine is Russian territory, we live on. Why the hell is Israel some special infant that can’t handle criticism. |
Yeah yeah https://roth.blogs.wesleyan.edu/tag/conservative/ Go read instead of making shit up |
People aren’t getting kicked out for saying they don’t support Israel. People are getting kicked out because they were supporting Hamas, Hezbollah and Isis - all Terrorist organizations sanctioned by the United States. This was a big problem at NU two years ago. It’s much much better now (NU parent) that they kicked Hezbollah off campus. Otherwise no one cares if you don’t like Israel. You just can’t support a terrorist organization in your quest to be anti-Israeli. Find another legal way. |
I agree!! |
“Still” committed? They were very much not committed to free speech before; you had to toe the progressive line. Republicans said they were for free speech; sadly they simply want to do what progressives have been doing for the last 20 years and shutdown dissenting views. I don’t think anyone actually wants free speech. |
