Putin's investments are really paying dividends... First, Balkanize the USA. Next, break up the EU. Both are strongly WIPs.

The US joining the EU is one of the wildest dreams of the democrat left, maybe even above getting Gretchen Whitmer or Mayor Pete elected president.

Giving up our sovereignty to supranational organizations is a core aspiration of the left.

Not the pp but... Curious to hear your take. Make a list please with historical time frames. You don't even need to explain much since I can do that. Too many people shoot down other people without anything to back it up. Without any knowledge of history or geopolitics. PP was asking a question about explaining another claim that had no explanation. Maybe (or not) it was a troll question but valid nonetheless in this context.

Interesting how you pick and choose. In its current state, the EU should be disbanded because while the "in group" is afforded benefits and protections, it arbitrarily leaves out a handful of peripheral states that creates a natural destabilizing area for Russians to try to gain influence. Either the EU should constrict and go back to the original 6 countries or the expanded 14 countries, or it should include all the European countries up to the borders of Russia, Belarus, and Turkey.

If the EU is constricted, it will allow enough states in central Europe to be strong enough to form their own economic and security bloc. Otherwise the 10 or so remaining countries will always be too weak to fend off economic or military aggression from either the EU or Russia, and will always be a small powers zone of conflict.

Weird take. Nobody I have ever heard of is out there advocating for the US to join the EU. The Democrat left wants the EU to lead Europe, not the US. They want the EU to stand up to Russia and other bad actors. Europe is the EU's sphere, not for Russia or the US.
