Trump supporters, how are you ok with the social media history proposal?

Why in the world would you guess that??? And what does nothing to hide even mean?

Have you been watching the way ICE and DHS and in general this administration operates? Act first, make excuses later. If we racially profile, break the car window, throw to the ground, and then detain an American citizen for five days - why are you upset if we let the guy go? That's how the system is supposed to work. It is called a "glitch."

You are shockingly naive.

This. They like Trump because he says it’s okay to be racist, and he tells them all their problems are the fault of mean city folk who look down on them. Beyond that, he is their sports team, so they just support everything he does.

Bad actors = Anyone not full-on MAGA.

All things considered, reviewing five years of a tourist's social media is not as horrific as other moves. But it suggests:

*utter disregard for the First Amendment
*our government going into mass surveillance mode
*a very predictable and costly negative effects on tourism (already happening!)

This fascism pure and simple. If a democrat had ever approximated any plans of this kind, you all would have lost your minds.

I want to understand how ANYONE who believes in civil liberties and core American principles can defend this.

MAGA will cry when they realize their freedoms will be stripped away as well.

I'm concerned about your lack of education and understanding of the first amendment. People need to wake up.

How would they even do this logistically? How would they know if what was submitted is real or what wasn't submitted or what if soemone doesn't even have any or says they don't -- will they just believe that?

I'm laughing at the idea that truly bad actors would not be able to avoid this so so easily.

That people don't understand the slippery slope is troubling.

They will surveil you. Your neighbors will turn you in if they don't like you. You will be restricted.

Trust me. I lived in China. This is what they do.

This. It's terrifying that people can't see the big picture and understand where this is headed.

Isn't MAGA the party of "don't tread on me"???

I doubt that would be a barrier to ICE or anyone else in the admin. For example, if someone keeps their friends private but you check out a friend who has commented they might have everything public. Then there's weddings and funerals and obituaries and all kinds of stuff.

Supposedly. Apparently they like to be beaten and punished by "daddy" though.

I don’t have Facebook, but my dog from 2007 does, RIP.

Does your dog have a different ip address than you?

Whatever happened to the Republicans who were against big government because they didn't want a surveillance state? Can we have those folks back? Step up and kick out the bums who want to spy on you.

Any Republican not speaking out against this is a problem.

Putting aside the liberal histrionics, this is my problem with this. It simply seems unworkable.

Stop asking what’s left of maga questions expecting some kind of answer that makes sense. You might as well ask Scientologists questions about their Thetans.
