If they’re OOS and get into the Monroe Scholars, one of the perks is a $10,000 per year scholarship (on top of the other benefits of it).

Some ED students who get Monroe are notified when they get their ED acceptance, but most Monroes (both ED and RD) find out around the RD notification date.

There’s also a full-ride merit scholarship, (1693 Scholars) but they only give a small handful of those out per year.

There’s no extra application for Monroe. Everyone is considered as part of the admissions process

My son received it. RD applicant. Based on grades/scores

My DS loves W&M is considering ED II from OOS New England boarding school but his GPA is only 3.5-3.6. I'm torn if I should dissuade him from EDII since the average GPA for admitted students is 4.16+.

Boys are an easier admit. Does he have the highest rigor?

The GPA is low but obviously W&M has a lot of public school kids with grade inflation and rigorous boarding schools are judged by a different metric. What does Naviance/Scoir and your counselor say? Give me an idea of schools that are suggested for this GPA at your school.
