Arrest at HS

But they do when a minor says racist stuff or posts something on instagram that might be interpreted as antisemitic

Might be? And, posting where everyone can see it makes it hard to keep it private.

If my kid is posting or saying anything that "might be" anti-semitic, then I have completely failed as a parent and as a human being.

Apparently, there were a number of parents at TJ and Langley who have failed.

Westfield sent out a generic email that night about a student who had passed away--it sounded like they died of illness--. The next morning, at drop off, there were police everywhere all over the school building and they were pulling kids out of class and interviewing them. Not a peep to the parents that a *murderer with a gun was at large*.

A principal can't make a statement purporting to know it was a murder if the police haven't officially said that, and given that it was within 24 hours of the incident the police almost definitely didn't officially determine that. Someone was shot and killed, they didn't know who did it, to include if a current or former student was a suspect.

If the police had made an arrest you would have heard that, and since they didn't it is OBVIOUS that the (later to be determined) murderer was at large. This is obvious, geez. If the principal emails saying "We think it is a current student" then doesn't that obviously make it more likely that the suspect will hide??

Congrats on making it about you.

FCPS sends emails about what minors did all the time. They just pick and choose when it suits them. Lack of transparency.

Yeah, stop making it about your kids just because a murderer was likely on the loose and in their school.

Nobody takes you seriously when you pretend like murder is no big deal. Like, when did the FCPS supporters start believing that we can’t discuss murder because it is inconvenient for the school system? It’s the epitome of dumb, yet here you are.

Two adult (men I assume?) FCPS employees were physically fighting in front of teenagers during the school day? This is a new low even for FCPS.

No one said they can't discuss murder, what was stated and is logical and LEGAL is they can't step into the position of FCPD. But you morons can't figure that out so you make it about you. You think you deserve to know information from a source that legally, ethically and logically can't provide and make yourself the VICTIM. It's so stupid.

Stating again, because a very specific type of person can't figure this out - FCPS isn't going to make statements that have to come from FCPD. FCPS can't state, until FCPD says it, that someone was murdered. If there's going to be police on campus to make an arrest or do something else for the purposes of solving the crime then FCPS isn't going to state that ahead of time, because doing so would enable the murderer.

This specific type of parent is a moron for not realizing they want things that HELP the murderer. It's because you're overtly ego-centric and can't figure out what's best for solving the crime.

That’s like what happened at Herndon High last month. Not great.

Everything is hush hush in FCPS. It's concerning as a parent.

My son didn’t know for sure, but he thinks there was a student arrested for stealing shoes.

Did you reach out to the school to ask for more information? I'm guessing no.

I did. No response.

Aah the FCPS way.

FCPS can’t say that a person died of stab wounds or in a drive-by? FCPS can’t say that no one has been arrested, and that the investigation is ongoing?

You’re a silly person peddling lies in the name of defending the indefensible. Just stop digging.
