And who will still be affording to eat via Uber eats? heard of a bike, legs, scooters, wheelchairs? etc. |
During 1.0 it was a shutdown/pivot to online work and school, now it's just a long vacation for those spineless elected workers |

Just flew into IAD tonight and all seemed normal today. Glad we made it home before whatever happens on Friday.
It’s going to be a mess. |
| Assuming both kids won’t come home for thanksgiving. One kid will be ok with it. The other really needs a little break and time at home, so I’m sad for them. |
| I'm sure rental cars for any drivable distance are already booked. Any chance you could fly today/tonight and drive home (depending on how long the break is)? |
| Thankfully we booked an airline ticket that allows changes- we're pretty much assuming we'll switch his ticket to return (hopefully) at Christmas and he'll just have to do a Friendsgiving with kids in his dorm. Bummer. Vote Blue next time if you're pissed off about this. |
| Actually I am more worried about the safety. If the flight is cancelled or airport is shutdown, my kid can stay on campus in Atlanta. I believe there will be many kids who can’t go home there. I am more worried about the safety. When TSA and air control staff are super tired, chance of accidents rises. Anyone worries about this part? |
| Sure feeling happy that I got Amtrak tickets for DC a couple of weeks ago… |
Yes! Not paying people and expecting them to work anyway does not make a well rested and capable workforce |

Yeah. It's going to be messy. Wife is coming home today from the UK, so no worries there.
But, we do have traveled book not for Turkey Day but for the first week in December. Going to KC for a soccer thing, but maybe we won't be? Thanksgiving for us is driving to Pittsburgh and we don't go anywhere for Christmas. Good Luck to all that have travel plans. |

I went home for Thanksgiving once in 4 years of college in MA. Mom was in FL, couldn't afford it and also for Christmas.
One year a professor invited strays to dinner. That was my least favorite. Other two years made spaghetti with others in dorm, went to movies. It was fine. |
