| Anyone concerned about Thanksgiving travel for your college kids w shutdown ? |
| Yes! Mine is on study abroad and has been gone since August. My spouse is also booked to fly out to meet him and help get all of his stuff home. |
| I've flown 4 times in the last two months. OHare is as slow as always - allow a generous layover time. Other airports have been fine. |
| Newark is a mess. ATC at EWR was understaffed even before the shutdown. Flight delays are especially frequent these days due to runway maintenance. Allow extra connect time. |
| Definitely worried about my kid flying home from Boston, but can't do anything about it |
Consider Amtrak? |
| They have just announced 10% flight cuts at 40 airports. But, no list of which airports. So yes, getting very concerned. |
|
I think it's fair to say that if this shutdown goes on for another three weeks, there will be no air travel at all by Thanksgiving.
You can't refuse to pay air traffic controllers and very low paid TSA workers for two months and expect anything to function. They're all forced to be Uber Eats drivers to pay the bills. |
What do you not understand about the new announcement today? No way I would fly thanksgiving. |
Johnson is not opening the government til he can make sure the Esptein files are released he just said January at the earliest. Republicans are idiots. |

Oh for god's sakes they want to burn the country to the ground.
Travel by air will be gone by Thanksgiving. And if you think the government is coming back in 2025 you have not paid attention at all. |
Amtrak is now $550 each way from Boston for that weekend. I just checked to see if we could buy a back-up ticket to the flights we already have but for that much I'll just drive up there and take home a car-load of kids. |
| Very concerned for my kid who has a flight booked for Tuesday. |
This, and I'm worried about my christmas trip now that VA went Dem. He might try to shut down our airports. |
