DC and I are booked for a college visit this coming Monday. Flying out Sunday and returning Tuesday. 😬

Will be watched by closely, ready to cancel the trip on Saturday, if needed ….

Not concerned. Booking flights. Worst case, canceled flights, and they stay for Thanksgiving with their friends.

What happened today that is making people more nervous?

My kid is supposed to fly home, but I could make the drive. They are leaving early anyway since all classs went virtual for the week of Thanksgiving.

It may be my imagination, but prices look down a bit today for days we've been looking at. Probably going to book soon.

Trump administration canceling flights because of the shutdown which is not going to end anytime soon.

TSA and Airtraffic control not getting paid.

Meeting up in the Caribbean with our kids, nieces/nephews and BIL. 4 groups have to take 2 flights to get there, and 2 groups are direct. Fingers crossed it's not an F'ing nightmare getting everyone there, especially since the "kids" are all traveling Wed and Sunday.

Super nervous, my college kid needs to fly cross country with connecting flights to get home for week of Thanksgiving and month of winter break. and we have a Dec island trip booked, first vacation in a year due to ending up needing 4 surgeries in our family in 2025

I'm really hoping that this will all be over by then.

My kid is scheduled to fly home from the west coast the weekend before Thanksgiving - they have the whole week off. Fingers crossed.

Consider Amtrak?

Amtrak is now $550 each way from Boston for that weekend. I just checked to see if we could buy a back-up ticket to the flights we already have but for that much I'll just drive up there and take home a car-load of kids.

Megabus? Bolt Bus? Greyhound?

Me three. Due to the connecting flights, I have to worry about 4 legs for both Thanksgiving and winter break. Ugh.
