The USPS doesn't allow mail without a return address. This isn't Mayberry.

But it doesn't have to be a real address. They aren't checking that.

It actually does. The issue is more that if it gets lost it cannot be returned to you so they encourage putting one. From the USPS website: The Postal Service encourages mailers to use return addresses because if the piece is undeliverable we can return it.

I found someone's wallet in a parking garage and mailed it back to them. I didn't put my return address, just wanted to do the right thing and not have any further involvement.

I am in NOVA, the address is in Silver Spring, MD. The guy is hispanic, I don't want to get him into any trouble with ICE!!!!

A lot of people here illegally in Va get their drivers licenses in Md because Va became very strict after the 9/11 hijackers got their licenses in Va. he probably lives in Va. is there a bank card? Can you bring it to a branch an they can reach out?

A lot of people's license don't match the residence. I know mine hasn't over the past 15 years for about 3 3-6-month sprints.

OP drove there and house was empty so that proves my point.

I would do some more internet digging but absent that police station is all that's left.

Haha to the Va drivers license.

Moved from MD to VA and couldn’t get a drivers license at first. My passport was expired, so I brought my birth certificate. I used the same birth certificate to get a VA license as a teen. Apparently it is not a “certified” birth certificate.

Finally resolved this by ordering overpriced certified birth certificate from my birth state. Also, if you got married and changed your name there is an additional fee for the added verification step!

Do you assume all Hispanics are illegally here?

As a Puerto Rican whose family has been here for hundreds of years and officially American since 1917 - the assumption is totally offensive and racist!

I get that. But it’s ICE that’s assuming all Hispanics are here illegally. I’m with OP in being concerned about that.

Don't give the wallet to ICE?

If the face was white and the last name was Jones, what would you do? Do that.

That is very naive. I'd mail it.
