This varies widely among universities. UVA and Penn State both accept self-reported scores. Several otehr universities do not. |

Lots of schools allow self reporting until matriculation. No school DD applied to required official scores. |
| More kids mess up, better chance for my kids! |
Why? Some schools don’t even want the official reports at this point. |
This was incorrect advice, even non expedited scores would have been received in time. |
Wise move -- those suggesting that it's no big deal to get moved to RD don't know U-MD process. Vast, vast majority admitted in EA, and it was made clear at our MCPS HS, where hundreds apply to U-MD each year, that even top stats students get rejected if they don't apply EA. Just in case you aren't already award re your music applicant: my DC also applied for both Music and another field, and the School of Music admission office made clear that if kid gets app in EA and SOM really likes them, they can push if needed for general acceptance to the university. So especially if your DC is connecting with professors there, at the audition or otherwise, you might want to share with the SOM admissions office the reason your DC went TO |
| OP reports back. Kid just took a screenshot of UMD applicant portal. The scores are in!!!! Yey!! |
| glad to hear op - good luck to kid! |
Thanks, PP!!! Enjoy the beautiful fall day! |

Sent official score in Sept. application submitted last wk. but portal still saying SAT score not received.
All other schools have received it. Is UMD just slow to update portal? Call them? |
FWIW, our CC said to never pay for expedited scores from College Board. |
Great news. When was the report ordered? Rush or regular? |
OP here. I ordered the regular report yesterday around 10am, and changed it to rush at 3pm. Glad it works!! He also completed the separate music school application last night. Now kid and I can enjoy Halloween. |
It varies school to school. Most competitive schools allow self-reporting until the student optics to enroll. It is meant to save people money. |
