UMD EA requires SAT scores sent directly from college board?

Not self-reported scores, but official scores sent from college board? The scores will not meet the Nov 1 deadline for sure!!!

Most schools require official scores from the CB, even if they let you self-report on the app. Also, I'm not sure about UMD, but some give some grace period for the official scores to arrive. You need to check with admissions to find out the policy there.

As long as your student application is in by the due date, they can wait for supporting documentation. I would request ASAP but its ok if they come a little later. They don't review your application on Nov 2.

I thought only when you are attending the school that you need to request the official scores to be sent. For applications, only self-reported scores?!! For example, UVA, and Penn State accept self-reported scores. No?

Yes I called UMD admissions and was told everything must be received by the due date - there is no grace period.

UMD is not the only school that requires score reports as opposed to self reported. Your kid should be checking for each school as it does take a week or so to arrive.

Honestly I don’t think UMD really want scores.

It varies by school. USC and Georgetown are two others that require score reports for example.

that is a different discussion - but if you said you are submitting scores, then there is a chance your file is marked incomplete if scores are not there.

Correct, you need to send an official report now for UMD.

Whether UMD will kick the app to RD, I'm not sure. I suspect they will still review it in EA, even though they may have said otherwise on the phone.

This is correct for most school. UMD wants them sent directly from CB when you apply. Wisconsin & GW do as well. You really need to read each website carefully for correct information.

The deadline is for your application, not for the scores!!!!

Each school is specific in their requirements. Some require the scores sent by the college board when applying. For other schools, you can self report. If accepted, then your official scores will need to be sent by the college board.
