And get people with cognitive disabilities who are at greater risk from this administration than any of those groups, regularly have to listen to people use low IQ, or mouth breather, or words that have the suffix -tard added to them. Why on Earth would anyone think that is OK?

I have never seen or heard this term used for someone with an actual disability. It's usually an insult for someone acting like a total asho1e. You're reaching wayyyyyyy out there.

Do you not see in this thread where people are talking about chromosomal differences and low IQ (both of which clearly are disability references) as connections they make with this term?

Open mouth is usually a dental, breathing or face muscle health issue. Many are fixable with Pt or braces.

Continued mouth breathing will rearrange your face shape, recede jaws, created sinus issues, snoring and sleep issues, throat issues.

However it also shows up as a face muscle issue in mentally handicapped people.

So you constantly have a vacant look and your mouth hanging open you do come across as in a dumb stupor.

People in the last years of their lives often breathe through their mouths.

Low iq and handicapped people have other structural bone issues plus weak oral muscles. Hence most have resting open mouths. Which creates more health issues (germ intake, bad breath, dry mouth, enamel issues, face shape distorts).
