But the 5th one, which is for Executive Staff, says “telework eligible — YES - as determined by agency policy.”

Interesting. So will some positions now be able to telework?

Commissioners and their counsel travel a lot and have insane hours. It is likely the same adhoc that everyone has but given the long days, being able to TW doesn’t necessarily mean you are not in the office all day. It could be that you are in the office all day and then go home and TW after hours.

He is also advertising to the regions, which is interesting. It’s not telework, but I appreciate the geographic flexibility.

Not sure how “insane hours”’ is relevant. Everyone is allowed to telework as long as they’re in the office during their official schedule hours. This posting gives yge impression that TW is permitted even during their official hours.

No it doesn’t. If you worked there you would know.

Then why does every other USAJOBS posting say that the position is not eligible for TW? Except this one.

Listen, regardless of whatever it says, if you're an attorney, you have telework privileges.

I'm in Enforcement and we most supervisors are very understanding. You can't make it a regular thing, but if you suddenly have to pick up a kid or have a doctor's appointment scheduled, then go ahead.

There is only one job posting. Not 5.

There were a few internal only supervisory positions in exams.

The BS kabuki theater is so tiring. Just have a policy and stick to it, rather than all this ambiguous inside baseball crap.

Anonymous wrote:How can exams not be telework eligible? Don’t they work offsite? so if you are on an exam offsite from 9-2 then you have to take leave the rest of the day?

Your day typically begins before 9, though. IIRC from when I was dating someone who had that job, 1 hour of travel time counted toward time worked and they also had to be at the site 30-60 mins prior to the start, so that counted as well.

Exactly.

For an executive it probably means telework when you're in excess of 40 hours already. Our SES work long hours, surely they can read emails on their phones on the weekend?

I know some firms threatened to dock bonus if employees did not RTO. I could see that backfiring where the company just made it an economic decision to RTO. I could see a lot of people forgoing their bonus for WFH.

Most businesses I know moved to hybrid because they don’t have enough office space to accommodate everyone.

Doubtful there's any telework.

About half the offices on my floor and the floor above me are unoccupied. I.e., no nameplate, not even "Touchdown Space."

Odds PA doesn't go to FLRA if there's a favorable arbitration ruling for the union? Like less than 5% right? Seriously considering leaving for a pay cut to get some flexibility back.

Why is he obsessed with RTO? Why?
