Is bedwetting really this common?

Thread jinxed my family. My 8 yr old has been a (almost) two month streak of completely dry night, and then just this morning woke up completely sopping wet.

What I get for putting it out there that he was 'over it'. -_-

Accidents happen. Get some nighttime underwear and a mattress protector.

My 6 year old DD has had 3 wet nights having been dry for over a month. I'm not sure what to do as we had just taken night diapers away

It is fairly common. One of my (3) kids had this issue.

Our ped was unconcerned. For my DS, it stopped right around his 7th birthday, all of the sudden.

I think this has always been common (as in there is always a handful of kids who have problems in this area) , but not really talked about outside of the family so as not to embarrass kids? Growing up, I had a cousin who wet the bed sometimes- almost into her teens I want to say? Not sure when it stopped but she jokes about it now, and has no known medical issues etc.

It's definitely not common, but some kids experience it.
