Is bedwetting really this common?

Yes it is common but people don’t talk about it. I would never share this with mom friends, many of whom are the parents of my child’s friends, or post about it publicly in a Facebook group.

I think my middle was bed-wedding until around age 8.

Super common. Hereditary. I did until 7 and mom spanked me. Brother did until puberty and he was shamed bc parents did not know better. Son until about 9– super deep sleeper. And he never wet the bed bc we always had him in pull-up until he was consistently dry. Just never made a big deal out of it (I pointed out to him that target sold lots of pull-ups so he was lot alone and it was part of growing up).

We do. Not necessarily due to cost but because they work better, we have leaks with pull-ups and not with the tape on. Also my boys aren't bothered by it. Do what works best for your family.
