Also, consider changing demographics.

Religions like Islam will cause a drop in alcohol sales in certain areas, however many Hispanics are heavy drinkers and will cause rise in drinking in other areas. Also certain ethnicities traditionally don't drink as much, such as people from certain Asian countries who lack the enzymes to metabolize alcohol properly.

Blacks and Whites in the USA are shown to remain pretty steady in alcohol consumption across all generations, though traditionally peaks occur in a persons 20s and after retirement in 60-70s.

What IS increasing is drug use such as marijuana and prescription medications, as well as opioids.

Op here. The drunk girls and one in the pavement scenario were white.

Ok, cool.

Your stereotyping was invalid here. My Asian neighbors drink the most out of all the neighbors in a diverse area.

My college daughter thinks beer is for boomers and she nearly dry heaves when she smells it on anyone's breath. When I was in college 30 years ago, all the boys had beer breath!

I don't think zoomers will ever have the taste for beer like older generations. Craft beer was an older millennial and gen X trend. Macro cheep beers (Miller, Bud, Corona, Modelo, Coors) are marketed towards low class white, blacks and Hispanic sports fans.

Michelob Ultra is the only beer that might have an "in" with young-ish upper middle class drinkers because they blow a boat load of cash marketing it as such.

Bud Light is dead. Modelo Especial is the best selling beer in the U.S. right now not because of white gen Z, but because there are 80+ million Hispanics in the U.S. to sell it to. You can tell beer sales are struggling because the macros are on sale everywhere, selling for less than bottled water and soda.

More than whom? More than millennials? No. More than Gen X? Hell no. More than boomers? Still no. More than any of those generations did when they were this age? F—k no.

Sobriety is trending among college-educated young people. Eating clean, being super in shape, healthy, and disciplined is "in." Beer is cringe crap their dad or grandpa drinks.

Bars aren’t dead and Gen Z still drinks a lot. Going to a bar and having a drink would be a good thing for many Gen Zers because they’re wound so tight.

On college campuses across VA you’ll find High Noon, Sun Cruiser and Surfside in most female hands. The party culture is about to migrate back to college towns in 2 months.

The wonderful thing the younger generation does is utilize Uber and Lyft. They don’t drink and drive.

My Gen Z college student got a fake ID in college and rarely uses it. He says going out is very expensive so they tend to drink in their dorm (and he says they don't even do that very much). Even weed isn't cheap. He makes his own money at his summer jobs and he's come to the conclusion that a $8 or more drink at a bar/club isn't worth it when you add in an Uber and maybe a cover charge.

He also works out a lot and eats pretty well for a college kid. He's at home for the summer and he makes his own lunches on Sunday nights for the week.

It will be bliss after all the boomers are gone.

I didn't know the Boomers planned to retire. They leave when forced out.

That wall of text and you only talked about the mass produced adjunct beers, that really aren't even real beer in the strictest sense.

So called craft-beer market is booming still. Over 10,000 breweries in the US alone.

You will wait and if you last longer than them, you will still be unhappy.

Wow, that's a beyond delusional cope. Kids under 25 are the fattest and most out of shape generation ever..... so far.

It seems floaty chairs and monster sized sugar drinks will actually happen.

This

Don't think so. They are abstaining from everything. Any kind of smoking is not popular or cool.

Not true. Cannabis use among young adults (college age) has skyrocketed, and it's at its highest rate now than anytime over the past 30 years. Gen Z is now 15 to 28 years old.

I agree with all but the sobriety part. Gen z sees dispensary cannabis as more natural. Fewer additive chemicals. (Not saying they are correct). Compared to alcohol, the high doesn't last as long as being drunk does, and there is no hangover. They get up and go to work just fine, work out just fine, eat clean just fine. They discuss their different types of cannabis the same way millennials and Gen X talk about craft beer and cocktails.

Craft beer sales are down more than overall beer.

Total beer: -1.2%

Craft beer: -3.9%

Import beer: +3.9%
