Thinking about moving to Israel

I had a friend that did this and she is still there a decade later. She’s part of the whole artsy/hippie scene there though.

BTW, even though you speak with such confidence in your own stark opinion, it doesn't seem that you realize that Jews maintained a continuous presence in the land of Israel despite the Romans expelling most in 70 CE. Jews have been returning to Israel ever since, even as far back as the Spanish inquisition. Both Palestinians and Jews have legitimate claims to the land. The quicker someone is to dismiss this complex matter as a one-sided issue, the less knowledge and more bias they display.

We all know that settlers steal land even beyond the already-illegal boundaries announced by the government. Not only do they steal land, they attempt to kill the people living there - raiding Palestinian villages under cover of darkness and lighting fires to their homes, not caring how many families die.

Putting aside all the politics, I just can’t imagine moving to someplace in the middle of a war. I’m so glad to live in a country that’s not war torn.

I know lots of people who moved there for some years on the 70s, 80s or 90s but I don’t know anyone who stayed long term. There are a lot more opportunities here.

Op here. Comments like this make me realize Jews are not welcome in most places and the best place to go is a place where I’ll be accepted.
