Thinking about moving to Israel

Anonymous
Not trying to be controversial or anything. I have found I really dislike living in the US and I think things are going to get worse. I am eligible for citizenship and could make “Aliyah” which is why I’m drawn todo this as it’s a way “out”. If you or someone you know has done this what was your/their experience like?

Is it just you? Or are there children involved?

Just me. No kids not married.

Do you like religious extremists and a society that wants to annihilate the natives? Because that's the mood in the country. Chants of "death to Arabs" and "may your village burn" are widely spouted and accepted. If you're onboard, you will find it a great place to live!

Expatriating to a stolen land isn't cool, OP.

Are you not also on stolen land?

Yes, but at least I'm not willing to make that conscious to move onto stolen land, when the land owners and their children are still alive. That's pretty crappy OP.

NP here. Most people alive today are on lands that are not their ancestors'. The difference is how long ago the exchange happened.

Clearly you ARE looking for controversy, OP. Israel is in a state of war. Risks abound.

So if you want to move, move. No need to rile up people with a thread on DCUM.

Good riddance.

The US has major issues.

Israel has even bigger ones.

I can empathize with wanting to leave America, but I doing thing the grass is greener in Israel.

Those are the religious zealots and not the norm (just like the MAGAs here). There are plenty in Israel who oppose Netanyahu and what he is currently doing politically, just as there are many of us here in the US who feel the same about Trump

Have you by chance been watching Anne Abel’s TikToks, OP?

NP. What is she posting ?

My son wants to do the same. I understand the inclination but I am concerned for his safety there. He will do a birthright trip to see if he feels comfortable. Have you visited OP?

It's one thing if you were born there. But expatriating to Israel IS supporting Netanyahu. Good lord, the cognitive dissonance of some is incredible.
