What happens to trophy wives when they are old and lose their looks?

Not every guy wants to marry an attractive younger woman (google Jeff Bezos). Some prefer a partner who is at a similar place in life.

Exactly. Wealthy men like to have social lives and their businesses sometimes require it. They don’t want the kind of unstable and likely unsavvy type of 25 year old who would be attracted to them. It might be different for the entertainment industry but a 55 year old law partner or executive does not want a messy 25 year old to be in charge of dinner parties with the clients. Because don’t doubt it - being the wife of a rich guy involves that kind of work even if she is not doing the actual cooking and cleaning. She’s doing the organizing and hosting and needs to be able to talk to the other wives.

Will he bang a 25 year old, sure. Marry - probably not.

This. It's a job, a very time consuming job, and not just anyone can do it. They really can't have someone naive and unskilled in the role no matter how she looks.

Just like Kiki explained on Sirens. She works for him.

Yep. My friend’s mother is a trophy wife. Lots of plastic surgery, etc. She has been divorced twice. Her current boyfriend is wealthy and in his 80s.

+2 unless you’re maybe in the entertainment industry or you’re an actual celebrity, the very high earning divorced 55 year old men aren’t looking to seriously date and settle down with someone who could be their daughter. A 10 years younger 45 year old, maybe. But generally, if they get divorced (and not many do honestly), a new partner is likely to be fairly close to their own age. Most hot 25 year olds aren’t going after the 55+ divorced dad, no matter how rich he is.

My mom was effectively a trophy wife. She still looks gorgeous for her age and travels around to see grandkids, skis, cycles, reads. She still gets plenty of attention from men her age, and my friends ask her for her anti-aging strategy.

They will do the same thing other single widows whose husbands weren’t rich. Maybe they will live with their kids or babysit, nanny, who knows who cares.

My parents are in their late seventies. They weren’t rich nor were their friends. Many are widowed. Some live in subsidized senior housing, 55+ housing, nursing homes, with their adult children.

I have a divorced friend who doesn’t have real skills and never had a real job. She moved in with her mom.

There are many hot mess women. Other former hot friend never was actually married. She dates and lives with new boyfriends.

Number one: they don’t divorce. They give permission to their rich husbands to cheat.
Number two: they get generous settlements in case they divorce. They won’t be broke.
Number three: at 65, they will still attract the 80+ yo rich men, especially those who knew her as a beauty queen, and had always dreamed of her. Now its their opportunity to fulfill that old dream.
