Biking 2 miles in 95-100F?

I’d care more about sweating like a pig from 9-11am at work than at home at 6pm.

Can’t even put make up in then.

That's what someone who doesn't walk or bike says. In a car you only notice the steepest slopes. On a bike in 100F+, you notice every single slope

The morning commute is not a problem. The afternoon commute will be with a 110F heat index. I obey all red lights. So yes, since I'm not fit, I worry. Bus would be even worse, because there's no direct bus route and I'd need to wait in the sun at the bus stop near my workplace - there's no shade. I have no access to a car for this week.

Thanks, PP, for your ice cloth advice. I might try that.

It’s 2 miles - just walk on the shady side of the street. Bring a water bottle. You’ll make it.

Consider an electric scooter instead.

Just go a little slower than normal, drink lots of water, and if you feel dizzy or lightheaded, stop and find some shade. My 15 year old bikes about 2.5 miles to work each way, and this is his plan.

Consider driving or taking an Uber. Good grief.

What can I do to make this less of an ordeal?
