Black people protested Trump on November 5, 2024, when it mattered most and so many current protestors maligned and ridiculed their votes. And btw, are Asians invisible or something? There weren’t a lot of Asians, Eastern or Southeastern, seen yesterday either. |
No it did not. It was effective. The parade was a bust. Get over it. |
Sort of violent. A gunman in Utah opened up on a crowd of protestors a a dude from.xulpeler ran through people in a Virginia protest.
Just not the violence that MAGA was frothing for. |
12.1 million people showed up for our democracy!! Yes!! |
SOME have, some haven’t. And some of us have protested in other ways. 92% of Black women who voted and 78% of Black men who voted— voted for Harris. We came out to be counted when it counted — often despite deliberate and even dangerous obstacles in our way. We’re a numerical minority group. We can shift things, but 14% is not enough to overthrow the white nationalists and those of you who support them, and the even larger numbers of you who sat things out — until it hit you that you might be impacted personally by your actions as well as by your inactions. tldr: White people created this mess. It’s on white people to take the lead to end it — if that’s what they really want. We’re focused on survival, and don’t need even bigger targets on our backs while white people wonder why we’re not working hard enough to achieve their current goals. Autocracy affects us even more. So ask yourself how we got to where we are now. It was not because the Black people who told you about Trump’s lifelong lies, criminal behavior, and racism were listened to respectfully. Start with the Trump family practice of using federal loans to build racially segregated housing in Queens. Ponder Trump’s inflammatory full page ads that led to the incarceration of 5 Black and Brown young men, and inflamed already tense race relations throughout NYC. We told you. Many of you didn’t listen. Now you want us to do things your way? Nah. |
That’s why you’ve posted videos to support your assertion. Right? Oh. No videos— only ravings. |
DP. 5 million (or more?) Americans protested yesterday, a majority of them white. We don't "want you to do things our way". You don't have to do anything. But maybe you should. |
Maybe. But you haven’t given me any reason for your assertions. You also have no idea what I actually did yesterday — just that I “should” have done something else, apparently. White people are the “majority “ of pretty much everything in this country. So if you all do your bit, that’s what things look like — including protests. It’s math. Do you have some rigorous sources for your data — or did you just eyeball it and decide to go with that? |
I joined a group of people holding signs at an intersection to show my support of democracy. I liked the option. I can see the challenge of determining the number of participants on such events. I saw many protests on roads, at intersections, on bridges. I saw coverage in towns, but wonder if there’s a way to get a sense of numbers.
What would be an accurate source for estimates of attendees for the protests and for the Army parade? |
Lots of protesters along the main roads in my northern VA community. All ages, but most did seem to be older. That doesn't really surprise me though - for all the assumptions on this site about older folks being MAGA, many were used to protests in their youth. And our town is largely liberal. |
12.1 million |
I think you'd be surprised at how peaceful most are. The organizations I am with are emphatically non-violent. And most of the people are too. |
