GLP1 experience

Anyone not lose weight on GLP-1? Started Zepbound about 3 weeks ago and haven't lost a single pound. Definitely not as hungry and eating less, but seems weird not to lose anything at all.

Are you still on a starting dose? It takes time for the effects to begin. Week 3 is when I noticed a reduced appetite.

Are you still watching what you eat? The medication isn't going to do it all for you. You still have to make a concerted effort to eat less, eat better, and move more.

Are you tracking your calories? I just took my third dose and have lost 6 pounds but I'm tracking everything I eat.

This is me. I was on for 4 months and lost 30 lbs. I have been off a year and have continued to lose 10 more! It really reprogrammed my brain and how I think about food.

If I feel like I need it again I would not hesitate to go back on.


Same. If I need to use it for 4-6 months every other year, fine. Better than what I've watched my mom go through just trying to stay not-quite-obese.


It's actually not "fine." This will do horrific things to your metabolism.


NP. No dog in this fight but how could he know this? Do we really have enough studies about these drugs at this point in time?


There are extensive studies about yo-yo dieting. The ramifications of this are very clear.

Come back in 6 more months and tell us how you have "not regained ANY weight."

OP it isn't unusual for people to keep it off for 6 months or so. But within about a year, it starts coming back on. Within about 18 months, the weight is back and more is coming.

Have you done blood work?

If there is anything in your blood work like cholesterol etc, they will give it to you instead of statins.

Yet this is not yo-yo dieting. This changes the way your body digests food.
