Bethesda was a power house for a very, very long time. But face it, Bethesda is quickly heading down the McLean route.

Let’s not carried away. Not a BSC parent (at another MLSNext club) but while Bethesda is no longer THE powerhouse (at least on the boys side), it still is highly regarded. I do not think their QofP ratings reflect the individual talent on their teams.

Yes but I heard it’s because they didn’t get moved up to the top team and secured spots on top teams elsewhere. That simply means Bethesda has an excess of talent and could afford to lose them. Let’s see.

QofP is all well and good. Once rankings actually kick in at U15 and above Alexandria and Achilles can’t compete. You don’t think a talented 13 and 14 year old can see that far ahead? Their parents can.

We are talking about kids who already were on the first team and absolutely would have been on it next season. They left because they were not going to have their long-time coach next season and they didn't want to play for the new coach. These are kids that Bethesda absolutely did not want to lose.

This is true. BSC couldn’t hold their top players because the draw to the NVA coach. People move their kids for coaching and that’s what happened in this case. Also quite a few of them coming from VA already. The move made sense

Last I checked, these are rankings defined by MLS. Why would players on these teams want to leave? Bethesda used to be the DMV beast. Now they are mid.

Um QoP specifically tracks individual talent. Try again.

It is because of the BSC super talented, best in the region coach . Who understands a bit in soccer development and knows him understands what I mean. No one asks a question why BSC u15-17 almost do not have kids(replaced) who he developed u9-u12. He uses them and destroys many of them especially physically(5-8miles run at the age of 8-11, intensive stamina training) and mentally(kids become robotic and cannot adapt to new style). He improves technique though. That's why u13 team is like that.

That’s an entirely different point, and probably a fair one. But, whether or not they or their parents are entitled, they’re certainly not complaining about the demanding training, quite the contrary.
