I love this for him.😍 |
He's good at blowing things up. |
How mad would you be if you paid tens of thousands of dollars over MSRP for one of those poorly constructed stainless steel dumpsters? |
Then we could buy rocket engines from the Russians like we did before. Yay. Big win. |
People in DC are mad at Elon. Understandable. But Elon did and does work hard for Tesla even if he bought it from a coupe of engineers. If you keep up with him he worked harder than anyone there. Slept there for years. So I don't think you can say that he didn't have anything to do with the rise of electric cars and batteries (the batteries are what mattered). I'm sorry he got involved in government too. But he is not totally unsuccessful. Without Tesla there would not be things like the Powerwall (pointed out earlier). As far as I know Tesla is the only one building the big battery megapack systems. I could be wrong and the Chinese are probably doing it as well. |
^Tesla's battery energy storage business has become a significant revenue driver, even surpassing the company's EV business in some areas. In Q4 2024, Tesla's energy storage revenue reached $3 billion, a 113% increase year-over-year. This segment now contributes a substantial portion of Tesla's overall revenue, with some analysts estimating that a single Megapack battery generates revenue equivalent to 35 of their best-selling EVs. |
Yeah, they didn't sell very many. |
Good |
I'm rooting against the guy who illegally did a bunch of other crap to the U.S. Do you people really think you can compartmentalized your lives like this so people don't think ill of you and aren't judging you for the crazies you are? |
I think that he had something to do with it because he’s a shameless self promoter and liar. He’s also an awful person. Good luck with battery pack systems justifying a fraction of the Tesla valuation. His robots are a generation behind, the cars are two generations behind with poor build quality, the rockets blow up, the robotaxis are utter and complete vaporware. Geofences and human supervised driving? Lmao. Best of luck to the stockholders…eventually the music will stop and you will be the one without a chair. |
Blowing up things and then learning what went wrong and fixing it is how Musk has succeeded in manufacturing. It doesn't work so well with government though. |
People in DC? People globally. Telsa sales have remained highest in the US, it’s TANKED elsewhere in the world because he is globally hated and puts out a subpar product. |
Looks like this won't be the win for Elon it normally would. I guess he didn't have a hand in the "big, beautiful bill." "The "One Big Beautiful Bill," a House-passed budget bill, includes provisions that significantly impact car emissions and related regulations. Specifically, it aims to reverse the Biden administration's Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards mandating electric vehicle (EV) production quotas by 2030-32 and nullifies the EPA's waiver allowing California to set its own stricter air pollution standards. Additionally, the bill repeals the $7,500 EV tax credit for manufacturers who have sold over 200,000 clean vehicles. " https://www.autoweek.com/news/a64861994/big-beautiful-bill-ends-ev-tax-credits/ Also, "The text of President Donald Trump's “big beautiful bill,” which passed the U.S. House of Representatives early Thursday, contains a provision that would impose a new annual registration fee on electric and hybrid vehicles, a move that experts say will disincentivize purchases of zero- and low-emission vehicles across" https://insideclimatenews.org/news/23052025/ev-hybrid-tax-increase-tucked-into-trumps-big-beautiful-bill/#:~:text=The%20text%20of%20President%20Donald,and%20low%2Demission%20vehicles%20across |
I guess that when you have unlimited US tax money to do so it works very well. Now he’s been provided the opportunity to end all of the investigations into Tesla and cover up his tracks. |
That's kind of how it works, isn't it? No risk, no reward. Big risk, big reward. Or big loss. People are willing to go for the long haul. Many of his rockets do not blow up (these are test rockets that are blowing up). He is the only chance they had of getting the astronauts back from the space station (and he did it with the Dragon). The battery pack systems are a big deal. They will be improved and may be a big part of our energy demand solution going forward. People see that. The cars are not "two generations behind". Behind who? Have you driven one? Robotaxis have yet to be started so who knows. Waymo already has some running (albeit with lidar). When Tesla used both lidar and cameras it was a bit of a dilemma over which would supercede. So they went with cameras. Geofences are not a bad idea. Older people may actually have more options and cheaper and safer options for getting places. And the boomers are a huge group of older people. |
