Some people don’t want to get the common cold.
They get less of it with mask if dealing with the public. |
| Some people are learning more about the long term health impacts that result from covid infections, either via catching up with the research or by experiencing it themselves/having a family member or friend experience it. Smart move to protect yourself |

Being considerate is staying home. You can order everything delivered. |
| Covid. COVID, COVID, COVID. Literally nothing about it has changed. Rates are lower than recently, but some of us still do not want Covid. |
Measles fear? Someone with an active case of measles was just at a Shakira concert. Something like 82,000 can fit in the Metlife stadium. I think it is an open-air, but I’m sure there are areas for high risk (restrooms, etc). |
I stayed home 6 days, crazy. Nobody is catching something from a masked person running in somewhere and staying clear of others. We have to take precautions and live our lives. I don't expect people with post-viral coughs to isolate for 2-3 weeks, do you? |

Covid is still at pandemic levels and is causing so much long term damage
We've all been hit with so much propaganda the last 4+ years so make us sacrifice our health for the economy. Really good watch by Taylor Lorenz about how we've gotten here - worth watching to the end https://youtu.be/zXrjlOE9e50?si=eUXov7uLeHT5JDuF |

COVID and flu surge. CDC is no longer doing many news releases because communications feds were RIFed and most scientists are still under gag orders.
Coupled with pollen. So those of us with underlying conditions are being careful. |
I’ve gotten COVID twice while wearing a mask. |
From a household contact? Work? While out running errands? I don't see how you could know your exact exposure without contact tracing. |
Was the Covid exposure from a masked person? I don't understand the relevance of your comment. It's the opposite situation. |
There is a covid surge that the current presidential administration is not recognising. |

I have a chronic illness that worsens whenever I get sick. Even if it’s just a cold, it goes away in a week or two but the flare up can last for a long time. I am still recovering from a cold I had 10 months ago. I got another cold last month (from a coworker who lied about being sick which was infuriating) and all the progress I made from the previous cold has vanished. Like I can barely walk properly. Also, the chronic illness is part of long COVID so i definitely don’t want to get that again.
I hate wearing a mask all the time. but I had to give up so many things I loved to do and I hate that even more. my social life disappeared because it was hard for most of my friends to accept that I can’t do things spontaneously but I might also have to cancel if things don’t feel right. People don’t understand that if I push through the symptoms to have fun, I won’t be able to hang out for a LONG time after. But I also have allergies and it seems more acceptable to say that’s why I’m wearing a mask. Which is idiotic but whatever. One thing this illness has taught me is to let people think whatever they want; I’m doing whatever gives me peace of mind. |
| Covid is around and it sucks. Try not to get it. |
