We will be stronger in the future, and watching the prime minister and the president, they both want that same outcome.”

Reminds me of an abusive partner coming back to say sorry with the tail between their legs while at the same time continues to put you down in a passive aggressive way.

The damage is done.

If the USA is a person (it isn't) then Trump would be a malignant brain tumor (he is), and Canada is right to want to hope that they can have rewarding relationship with USA after the tumor is eradicated.

Yeah: Nah. That was the hope after Trump’s first go at the presidency. And with Biden, the relationship between our countries righted itself. Then Trump was elected again, and came out of the gate even worse than before. Think about that using your analogy PP. Let’s assume the best — whatever that looks like in the short term. Why would Canada —or any country — trust their safety and overall well-being to country that knowingly elected a rabbit Trump a second time? Four years or even 8 years is likely not enough time to rebuild a deliberately and capriciously broken trust.

I’m betting that Canada joins the EU.

PP back.

1. I was confused and thought that quote was from a Canadian hoping for reconciliation, not one of Trump's idiot flunkies.

2. A lot depends on whether the low-information centrists finally wake up to what the Right really is: fascists who thought they couldn't get away with it, until Trump showed them they could. So far, special elections have shown that voters are waking up.

If the midterm repudiation is strong enough, and Trump is brought to heel, I think the world will celebrate and support Americans, because a country saving itself from fascism is extremely rare and precious, and the US naturally has a lot to pffer the world, given our size wealth, and resources.

Trump wash uniquely able to make China look good, but no one wants to be China's partner. China is extremely aggressive, dishonest, and powerful. They have been raping Africa and Latin America's resources, and the only improvement over the 17th-19th century colonial powers is that they aren't directly murdering as many people.

Assuming midterms will happen is a fools errand.

I put relatives in separate category. Random tourism is seriously down.

GOP Lawmakers would not have introduced a bill if this wasn’t a serious problem, but go on…

This is what my snowbird Aunt reported, too. She's trying to get my parents to buy this year. She said there's usually 3-5 places that go up for sale/lease at the end of each snowbird season, but this year her community has 18. She said their community is losing all their Canadians and most of the Europeans. I had no idea so many Europeans spent winters in FL.
