My Catholic friend thinks they decided to suck up to Trump, next best think to Trump getting to be the pope.

Anyone know about his theology? The little I find online makes it sound like he's more of an institutional type person than Francis.

It could be about being the voice of moral leadership for the world, when the US has moved out of that sphere. He can speak in English.....

My moderate and liberal Catholics friends aren't excited he was chosen. Apparently he's very conservative. They think he'll be another person in power that Trump and can use and manipulate.

And also, maybe influence any conservative Americans to remember their compassion and humanity, and vote accordingly.
