I suspect you are in the majority! I get the reasons for space research, and we should pursue it. But life on earth -- addressing cancer *and* protecting our natural environment -- is by far the priority. Why would anyone ever want to set up colonies or whatever on Mars? If a barren, dusty, planet where a human can never go outside of the pod seems more appealing than Earth, then we have really, really screwed up here. |
+1. Good luck getting good treatment on private insurance. 5 minute physical that gets billed as a “problem” visit the second you start talking about the ringing in your ears and has you leaving with a stack of referrals for specialists whose first appointment is six months from now. That’s what medicine is for the common folk these days. People who want better need to pony up for concierge. |
That's Elon Musk and Bezos former liberals. I don't think that is a Maga thing. We have plenty of better options here like Antartica and the Sea. |
Musk is MAGA. But anyhow, why hasn't it dawned on him that if he thinks we can terraform, green and colonize Mars, shouldn't we first be working to fix earth right here, for far less money? |
You’re missing the point. He wants to colonize mars with the musk race. Why do you think he’s going around impregnating anyone who would have his offspring? Here on earth he will use every last of resources and make it unlivable for the rest of humanity. |
The other side of that Keynesian prescription is to cut the extra spending when things are good. |
