Soon we're going to have posts like:

Should I keep my phone in my left pocket, or right pocket? I usually keep it in my left pocket, but on the plane I'm wearing pants that have slightly bigger pockets. I want to try out my right pocket but I'm just not sure. Does anyone have experience with this?

I almost spit my coffee out! You win DCUm today!

I’ve actually seen questions like this.

Omg is this a real question?????

So stay home and relax
Pay and go early
Have fun before flight by doing something interesting

I mean aren't you just talking about having a free 5 hours or so???!

But seriously! Are DCUM people so type A that they can't imagine how to enjoy a few free hours? Gd, is there anything better than a few free hours you didn't expect to get?? Obv not if something you were looking forward to - or counting on you - gets canceled. But just like suddenly having an afternoon free? Bliss!

I am super not type A though.

or use it to upgrade your seats instead.

Newsflash. Non flagship Lounges aren't that great. No way would I pay $300 for an airport lounge.

I would still just go to work to not burn a vacation day. Save it for later in the year. But if you're self employed, just relax and spend the day getting the house organized and packed up.

Take your time getting to the airport, have a cocktail in the lounge, and read a book while you hang out.

Now we don’t have to work. There are still seats on an earlier flight, but they would be almost $300 more, and I don’t know if we can justify that cost just to have a couple extra hours at our destination. I know $300 isn’t a lot to most here, but it’s a lot to DH and me, on top of an already expensive vacation that we saved to take, and if we are spending $300, I think we can do better than an extra four hours at the hotel?

So how do we make this an adventure now? How can we make lemonade out of these lemons?

If you’re leaving from Dulles or Washington National, just go there and hang out at the airport as if it were a cruise ship.

Just go to work and save that day of leave like you planned to do.
