If you spend the money and then get delayed anyway you'll be PO'd.
Stick to the plan and save the money or spend it on the trip. |
Yeah, you are way overthinking this. Just take your original flight. |
Four hours isn't worth $300 to me. I would honestly just worked as planned if you can and save the vacation day for later. |
Yeah I don't really see the lemons here. You get some time to chill at home before heading off on a trip you're excited about. |
Really good point. You’ve convinced me. I would be so angry at myself if this happened. I won’t tempt fate. Thanks for humoring me, everyone! Have a great week! |

Airport bar. |
I’d start vacation early at home. We had a cancelled flight once and went to the pool and had a boozy lunch without kids — felt glorious and like a mini-vacation, all within 5 blocks of our house. |
Airline? You could try for a same day change once you are within 24 hours of both flights, assuming there are seats left on the earlier flight. It’ll be cheaper than changing now but you’ll be stuck with whatever seats are left, if there are any seats. |
I'd get to the airport early and go to a lounge -- use that money to experience what the other half does!
or use it to upgrade your seats instead. |
This. |
Nailed it. And I would argue we sometimes already do have posts like that. |
This. United does same day changes. |
