They want to put the moderates in charge

I certainly hope so. The notion Dems can win by pushing independents to the far left is what got us in this mess. Neither Harris nor Walz were seen as moderate Dems.

Agreed. And Dems won’t win again until they publicly acknowledge their mistake in going way too far left. Trying to just sweep it under the rug is not going to work. We need to know that Dems have changed.

No. Their mistake was in not going left enough. What you “centrists” fail to understand is that transgender people and immigrants are just convenient scapegoats. If we abandon common sense rights for everyone just to try to get votes, the right will just demonize other groups to scapegoat.

The pp is not centrists the pp is a RWNJ.

The problem is that Dems are following James Carville's advice to "play possum" and it's bad advice.

He's an operative who is so out of touch with the electorate that he might as well be living in a vacuum.

Dems are not organized and united enough to be doing anything in unison. But some are doing what they can to push back. For example, in recent days, individual and groups of Democrat lawmakers have travelled to El Salvador and Louisiana to visit jailed deportees and bring attention to their situation.

If you voted for trump then you are to blame!

Blaming the voters who voted for Trump is not going to win hearts and minds of the voters needed for the midterms and 2028.

So?

At this point it’s more important Trump voters be shamed and ridiculed.

Why do Trump voters think they can be upset by the policies they voted for without others saying "told you so"? Common sense and a little bit of paying attention to the news outside of Fox would have told you this way going to be a s-show and ruin the economy. But nope, they continued to rah rah trump and his cronies. You earned the shame you are receiving.

Another example of the Dems focusing on something other than the good of the people. Trump takes up way too much time ans space in your brain, PP. Focus on doing something good. Focus on the kitchen table issues.

Agree.

Trump has Democrats running all over the place reacting to the nutty things he does. It's like he has a laser pointer and every liberal lawmaker is a kitten. The more liberal media can't keep up with the fire hose of stories. It's a strategy that is currently working. Now Trump 2028 merchandise is being sold online. This won't stop until 2029.

As a Dem, I just want to get out of identity politics all together and just focus on running the government.

I want well-funded healthcare, medical research, parks, roads, transit, schools, etc. I want to be a world leader and also have stable financial markets. I want smart people working for the government in disease prevention and cyber security.

I'm so tired of talking about immigration, trans athletes, and CRT.

Agree with all but immigration. We should have secure borders and know where our visitors are. We should prioritize getting citizens and permanent residents work versus bringing in lower wage workers from overseas and be more like the EU on the issue.

It will be a blood bath for the GOP if Trump’s chaos strategy doesn’t work and work soon to bring debt down and get the economy rolling again. The pendulum will swing hard the other way. His indiscriminate deportation of people may also sink him. People are not happy with undocumented persons here, but they are more unhappy with scooping people up without checking into their situations first.

We are not talking about trans athletes and CRT. Republicans want to treat certain members of our country as second class citizens or as less than human. Democrats are rightly defending them, as they should. We are nothing as a party if we sacrifice vulnerable members of our society in the name of economy or “fiscally responsible government.” I for one will not cater to 3d party prejudices. I have friends with kids who are gay, bi, trans and they are terrified for their children

BOTH Republicans and Democrats have a responsibility to preserve/defend democracy. Being afraid of Trump does not absolve Republicans of this responsibility.

PP here. I agree and want a secure border too. I'm just tired of all this national focus on it while we are gutting the CDC and no longer running safety checks on food and milk.

Ignoring it is not a solution.
