When the GOP has the House, Senate, and White House and Trump's hand picked Supreme Court, please tell us exactly what they can do!
If you voted for trump then you are to blame! |
Well, stop trotting out Schumer and get a younger, more intelligent spokesperson
for the party would be a great start. Stop voting for republican bills - 100% NO across the board. Stop acting entirely helpless when the President is violating the law, the constitution or court rulings. |
+1 Schumer is past his prime and focused on promoting his latest book. He also could have played hardball on the continuing resolution-I don't buy his justification. |
Even if Schumer were replaced by Jon Ossoff (who is up reelection this year and his opponent is likely to be Marjorie Taylor Greene!) they have no power. Trump and Muck would have shut everything down and done even more damage. |
They were between a rock and a hard place on the CR. Trump would have been more than happy to shut it all down, use it as a excuse to keep bigger parts of the government from eventually coming back to work, and blamed all the damage on the Democrats. |
The democrats only care about Israel. Seriously they were in control of the senate and refused to address the corruption at SCOTUS, refused to address voting rights, address abortion, etc. Let’s say the Dems win both the senate and congress in 2026. What are they promising to do? Are they promising to impeach and remove Trump, Vance, SCOTUS, etc? Are they doing away with the filibuster, reform of SCOTUS, increasing the House by 100 representatives and rebuilding the government? No they are not. They want to put the moderates in charge and recreate the status quo. We need a party that will fight the republicans on their ground. This means breaking Fox News, breaking Wall Street money hold on our politicians, breaking away from Israel, etc. |
I certainly hope so. The notion Dems can win by pushing independents to the far left is what got us in this mess. Neither Harris nor Walz were seen as moderate Dems. |
Blaming the voters who voted for Trump is not going to win hearts and minds of the voters needed for the midterms and 2028. |
Trump is doing it anyway. You have to hit trump where it hurts. His ego and voters. They voted for the show, give them a show. |
Ironic given they lost the election in 2024 because the right projected that it was more attuned to Israel than the left. |
Not true. They need to appeal to the majority of voters who simply didn't vote. Trying to get a Trump voter out of the cult is a losing cause. |
But they are… they are both extremely moderate. I think the fact that they care about people and this country was weaponized against them by the far right that is currently running this dumpster fire. It wasn’t them, it was democratic leadership letting the fascists control the narratives. Walz admits this readily. They were doing very well until they let the milquetoast democratic consultants take charge of the campaign. |
And for the love of god, stop pushing the idea that there is any far left in this country as an organized party. There are probably more registered Whigs. |
Stop whining about losing issues and hit the republicans on the economy they are tanking. |
Right now, Democrats lack formal power. Their task is to make sure Americans understand the damage Trump is doing. To bring Trump down, he needs to be very unpopular, and Democrats need to offer a viable alternative who is not extremely old. They also need to protect democracy to the extent they can through the legal system. This can be tough when Trump is pushing boundaries with people that might not elicit much sympathy.
So they need good leaders. Jeffries and Schumer should step down. And they need to find a sympathetic person who has been illegally detained/deported and go all in on defending that person. |
