While we had rain each day, we had a wonderful vacation to key West last August, including snorkeling with Sun in the Fun charters. Flights were easy. Plenty of hotels and rentals, and lots else to do. |
Another vote for Aruba or Bonaire |
OP here - thank you so much!I had never heard of Redweek and it sounds like this would be perfect for us - you can use all the hotel amenities, correct? Thank you! |
Surprised no one has mentioned Grand Cayman. That’s perfect for what OP is looking for. |
Would also like to know why Riu is “gross”. Was there a year ago, no problems. |
Grand cayman gets hurricanes and has an average six inches of rain in August. |

It’s because it’s hurricane season in August for most of the Caribbean, Grand Cayman included. That’s why Aruba is so popular in summer. |
There is not much to do in Aruba. It’s a small island with not much happening or places to visit. |
I would book a cruise. They’ll dodge any hurricanes. You may not end up at all of the original planned ports, but you’d get something. And you could still have a good time on the ship regardless of what the weather does. |
