Why not eat pork?

What was the reasoning back in the day?

Because it was written in the Torah. That's why. There's no "original" dietary reasoning. You do it to honor your faith.

Well neither Jesus nor his early followers ate pork so I try to follow that.

There’s nothing forbidden about pork. Jesus saved you from that nonsense!

It is not really to be explained by naturalistic explanations, which is why it was fulfilled in Christ and is therefore no longer necessary as a mark of God's people under the New Covenant.

BS. Early Christ followers knew that Jewish dietary restrictions, among many others, would make it much more difficult to convert your pagan ancestors.

I doubt anyone back in the age of the axe and the hammer thought about any time beyond the present

That's just some made up nonsense created centuries after Jesus's life

Sure, but it was written in there for some reason.

The Chumash is the word of God dictated to Moses.

It's bordering on antisemitism to state that Moses had some ulterior motive.

Did Moses actually ever live?

Do you want to see his birth certificate?

No, Jesus himself said, "it doesn't matter what goes into your mouth, what matters is what comes out of your mouth." Then Paul, if you accept his letters, made sure the new churches didn't go back to dietary rules.

Pigs can’t be slaughtered dead with one slice of the neck like other animals. They are still alive after a neck slice because have thick necks which means a jugular vein kill can’t happen quickly: they die a super painful death crying and squealing. It’s painful and sad.
If you ever saw a pig slaughter, you wouldn’t eat pork either. It’s very disturbing.

Pigs are also super intelligent and similar to humans in anatomy and emotion. It’s close to cannibalism eating pigs. Firefighters say burning human flesh smells like bacon

Jesus didn’t eat pork. Jesus didn’t celebrate Easter or Christmas

I doubt that was the reason when they came up with the rule 2,000 years ago.

He never said that. The author of the gospels is an anonymous person who probably never met Jesus. Why would he practice one thing and preach another?
