We will figure it, yeah? So who is going to do the bolded work below? There are two main NIOSH functions at the South Park campus that the agency shares with the much larger staff of the National Energy Technology Laboratory. One is the mining safety research division, which works on ways to prevent any type of hazard, injury or fatality at mining sites. The other is the National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory, which certifies respirators ranging from N95 masks to full-face coverings worn by firefighters. |
Yes, we do. I wore one every day when I worked in SF treating TB patients. Hope we don't have a shortage when TB cases spike. |
PP. Meant to reply to the "Doctors don't wear N95" post, not yours. I have a stock of kn95's at home, they are more comfortable than n95's (to me). |
Yes, our safety will degrade over time as opportunists flood the market with fake stuff. |
Five years ago, no one knew what an N95 mask even was. |
I wish the thread title wasn't so limited, because it is so much more--the people who need TESTED secure msks will not be able to get them. Why do you think they’re going to stop being manufactured? |
Exactly. Now chicken-littles still won’t leave the house without one. |
Like they’ve already been doing for 4 years? You think it’s impossible to fake that like NIOSH label? |
OMG.Doctos, miners, and firefighters are not buying off TEMU. They are buying NIOSH certified from...you know what, never mind. I will post it one more time and hope one of you is listening. Yes. We all know how surgery works with masks. Thank you, Mr. Obvious. Without proper testing, the mask worn could be effective or ineffective. Whether it's a N95 or not does not matter. OP |
Maybe, but I noticed during the LA fires that many people were able to grab one from a drawer in their homes to protect themselves from smoke. I use them to empty the vacuum cleaner canister and other dusty tasks |
The doctor above says they do. |
Aw, you are so sweet. You think Trump will allow us to interact with other countries? If he does allow us to leave--and doesn't cancel our SSNs, rendering us "dead"--then how much will these masks cost with his "big, beautiful" tariffs? |
Thank goodness, Trumpy and Musky are so drama free and even keeled. Praise God! ![]() |
