What's considered a small dose for maintenance? |
I’d like to know too. Wonder if that is what people call “micro dosing”? |
Hungers cues are off when you age. I eat very healthy but I feel much more hunger so I gained on a healthy diet. |
This. So ridiculous. |
Just need to point out, when people lose weight through WW, Jenny Craig, Nutrasystem, Atkins, whatever, they usually gain it back as well (anyone remember the TV show "the biggest loser"?)
That people regain the weight after going off the drugs shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, as it's what happens. I will say, the drugs are making the weight come off much easier |
Yes, people who use trainers and eat body builder meals also gain back when they stop. |
Both, existing ones swell back up and excess intake beyond that encourages new fat cell production. |
Forgot to answer this one. They never get back completely to zero point. The fat cells are still there. Shrink them as much as possible, and you might look close to when before gaining those extra 5 lbs, but never as good. The people who look the most fit later in life, were always fit and never "let themselves go" at any point. Liposuction will remove fat cells obviously, but there is also scarring and other risks and health or cosmetic issues associated with lipo, especially over large areas of the body. |
It’s 2025. Do people think they can stop eating/moving in the ways that made them lose weight and not regain weight? |
Thank you for answering my questions. That is is depressing, I wish doctors would emphasize this when the scale starts to creep up. |
I used compound semaglutide to lose 25 lbs (no medical indication, just menopause). I lost 20 lbs then stopped as I felt it was “good enough” and I didn’t like the feeling of mild nausea/malaise while on the drugs. So I had an extra vial left over. I started doing a small dose once every 2 weeks, and have extended that to a small dose once every 2 months, so that vial has lasted over a year. Debating on whether to order another vial or not. I probably will in case the compound is discontinued.
I eat pretty clean, fasting 16:8, and get 8k steps a day (before and after semaglutide). Haven’t gained any weight back. |
Anyone? What's considered a small dose? Or a maintenance dose? |
For tirzepatide, the smallest "official" dose is 2.5mg. Lily Direct's trials are based on taking 2.5 for 4 weeks, then titrating up to 5mg for 4 weeks, and so forth up to 15mg. For many people, like me, the 2.5 dose is strong enough that we just stay on it. That's considered a small dose. Technically people will say the 2.5 dose is just the starter therapeutic dose and there are people who say they don't feel anything or start to lose weight until they are past the starter 4 weeks on that dose. But for people like me, 2.5 is more than enough. Microdosing is people who take even less, in the 1.xx range. Or people who take 2.5 less often than weekly, like the PP mentioned she does. I know someone who takes it once monthly. Microdosing is also when some people split their 2.5 dose into a smaller dose every 3-4 days instead of once weekly. |
Life happens. Have compassion for people who fell off the wagon. |
Do you stop taking blood pressure medication? No? Then you've answered your own stupid question |
