| I am NOT surprised people are turning away from Missouri and Oklahoma. |
I posted above but I think weather is why you see kids flocking to Alabama and Florida over Oklahoma for instance. |
Probably insurance that they get in somewhere good. Travel costs are an issue. Being far from family is a problem especially if something like a hurricane hits and you don’t know locals to hunker down with. |
| IT certainly is real in our affluent suburb. Here not many want to go to Columbia/Barnard, Swarthmore or Oberlin. |
47% OOS is significant. Tons of NE kids at SC. |
| I definitely see more kids going to big southern universities this year than in prior years for DD's Catholic high school in NoVA. I think it's a combination of weather, cheaper OOS tuition, and not getting into UVA/VA Tech but still wanting the fun sporty school environment. |
Does everyone go to the SEC instead of JMU now? |
No, there are lots of kids going to JMU too. Maybe just not quite as many as before. |
| Lots of kids from the Northeast in my kid’s Vandy class (junior) |
Not, UGA and Wisconsin are peers but UF is solidly higher than both. |
Not really |
| The sift to SEC is remarkable |
My DS is going to none of the above, but FL > Wisconsin = UGA |

Maybe five years ago. Try to keep up. |
