There’s also the cultural differences. They have a church on every corner and the Northeast is the least religious area in the country. The fraternity females still strive to please their male counterparts and have different, more stringent rules to follow. Plus the majority of the students from the South went to schools that leave a lot out of their science and American history classes. |
Northern transplant with Southern kid. This is one of the most ignorant anti-South comments I’ve seen in this forum. Not fair to make assumptions about “fraternity females” or about what’s being taught or not taught in the schools down here. Many of my kid’s friends are in fraternities and sororities at Southern schools. They are forward thinking, open-minded young people who are interested in other cultures and other points of view. As for the curriculum…I’m a liberal but I do find it dismaying how the college curriculums at many Northern schools has devalued Western literature, philosophy, religion, etc. |
The anti-south drivel of so many people here is fascinating. |
If it makes you feel better, yes you can believe that. It seems like you really need that. |
Clemson is higher rated than U of Sc by a lot. |
So why apply if politics and churches are a problem? |
Your last sentence is unadulterated nonsense. - Southerner |
Just let the NE'rs continue to think that, unless you want even more people from NJ moving in. |
! +1 Another ignorant poster who likely lives in a non-diverse New England bubble. |
Not for business and honors. |
| Yeah I think SC has caught up to Clemson and surpassed it in business. Or, it’s at least on par. I look at it like the UVA/ Va Tech rivalry. Both are great schools. |
I don’t believe that, I know that. It seems like you’re starting to understand. |
Posters who live, grow up and receive their education in New England states that are comprised of approximatrly 70% or more white and fewer than 10% black residents don't have a clue about diversity and learning. They often attend private schools and then attend non-diverse New England colleges. |
+100 Why isn’t New England more diverse? DP |
The most important thing is that your kid is happy there. |
