| Bio film! I had great success w/ the Uqora program. D mannose is part of the regime. Got my life back. |
| What medicines is UTI a potential side effect of, please? Thanks. |
| If estrogen doesn’t solve this issue, try eliminating gluten. My gym recommended this and it’s been life changing. I have not had a UTI since and was getting them constantly before. |
Likely more than one but I’m the pp who suggested it and for my family member it was an anti-seizure medicine. |
| Is your DH touching your behind hole with anything and then touching your vagina? That can transfer bacteria. |
They need to culture it. Urgent care did not Give you proper care. |

I take probiotics every day
I take CVS Urinary Health Cranberry with probiotics in it every morning. I drink EmergenC every afternoon to acidify my urine. The latter 2 were recommended by a former gynecologist. Until 2016, I had a UTI every few years. Always cultured as e coli. Macrobid. In 2016 I had one that cultured as Kleb. Pneumoniae. Bactrim-DS. Unfortunately turns out I am allergic to that and sulfa antibiotics. In 2019 i had another Kleb. Pneum. UTI. Had to take Cipro. This is bad. You can get terrible tendon problems. Was ok. Had repeat culture to be sure clear. Same 2019, 2021. Cipro. Repeat culture. 2024, long course of Cipro because new gyn tried 5 days and it took another course. Insisted on repeat culture at PCP because gyn wouldn't do it. Got new gyn! Any ideas of why I get Kleb. Pneum. since 2016? I am fanatical about wiping properly. I try to time defecation so I can shower after before dressing for the day. No sex. Started topical estrogen in 2024 but got that last UTI on estrogen. The Cipro is what is the real issue. I don't want a snapped tendon. |
This.This. This. |
For my Mom it was C Memantine-an Alzheimer’s med. once I got her off the med the UTI stopped. Side effects were listed as urinary tract issues. |
| Read the side effect lists of any prescription meds that you are on. |
| Try vaginal estrogen |
I sm on vaginal estrogen. None of my meds list urinary issues. |
Refuse the Cipro. There has to be another antibiotic that the bacteria is susceptible to. I’ve taken it a few times and it works incredibly well on my UTIs but now it’s not recommended unless as a last resort medication. I am also allergic to sulfa. I’ve been given Monurol and cefuroxime. You have options. Don’t give up on the vaginal estrogen. It takes a while to make a difference but I haven’t had a UTI in 3 years now. |
