| Also take probiotics. |

I agree this is effective as a Preventative. OP hasn’t answered whether she’s had a urine culture for each UTI. If you do have a positive culture, what is the bacteria? Ecoli? What antibiotic are you put on? How quickly does it come back? Maybe it never went away and another antibiotic is necessary. You need to sit with your doctor and go through the latest culture and see what the bacteria is susceptible to. (remember d-mannose as a preventive.) |
| Definitely test for parasites. It often shows as UTI. |
| OP here, am already on a prebiotic. Usually arrive at urgent care pee in a cup, and doc says bacteria or blood in urine and puts me on antibiotics. Last one was Dec, literally the day before we left on vacation, I had to drive 30 minutes just to get an appt. Then this week, and they didn't culture this time (first time), just gave me meds. Had a doc appt and mentioned the UTIs, and she suggested estrogen |
| Do you have pelvic floor dysfunction? I kept presenting with UTI like symptoms but it was actually a hypertonic pelvic floor. A baclofen suppository helped me. |
| I had to Google that- no, I definitely don't have a hypertonic pelvic floor issue (none of those symptoms) |
If they didn't culture it, it may not have been a bacterial UTI. |
| For me, it's due to perimenopause. I've found 2 things helpful which others have mentioned: daily vaginal estrogen cream and D-Mannose after sex. |
|
They are a potential side effect of some medicines.
|
| Have you had a ureaplasma test? UTI tests don't pick up all bacterias...sometimes a recurrent UTI is caused by a deeply embedded infection. |
Overstated. It's such a common problem for sexually active women in their 20's |
Except OP has been married 25 years so is 45+. Recurrent UTIs for women 45+ is likely due to perimenopause. |

Good point to consider. |
