I thought they had enough republicans who would vote to take it back? This is when everyone needs to contact their democratic reps and demand that they stop watching from the sidelines and do something

The Senate has 4 and already voted: Murkowsli, Collins, McConnell and Paul.

The House has 1 who has publicly stated support: Don Bacon.

This measure is DOA even if they do pass it. Trump will veto it.

That's a different bill. The one you're talking about won't stop anything for 60 days.

Are there two separate bills?

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but there was already a bill in place regarding the Canada and Mexico tariffs, I think there’s another one regarding the everybody tariffs.

I’m not sure either. Thune and Johnson are not communicating well about what they are doing about our tanking economy. They own it.

"Be Cool-I know what I'm doing" says the geriatric POTUS who couldn't run a casino without going bankrupt.

“BE COOL!” President Trump posted on Truth Social, as nations scrambled and markets convulsed in response to his new tariffs. “Everything is going to work out well. The USA will be bigger and better than ever before!” The president has shown no sign he plans to back down, saying at one point yesterday: “I know what the hell I’m doing.”

If he was this careless with his own money, imagine how careless he is with your money.

I don't think you understand Trump's business model. Trump licenses his brand. His money is primarily in real estate, not casinos.

Main problem with tariffs and deportations is Trump's use of emergency powers. Presidents have emergency powers for a reason, and Trump is getting away with abusing those powers. Sometime in his first term the Atlantic listed all the emergency powers a president can potentially use. It was a long list. SCOTUS poured has on that fire with the Jack Smith prosecution ruling.

At the same time, I kind of see Roberts' position as saying it's not the court's responsibility to babysit Congress OR the citizens. And I can see that.

Trouble is, it took the Italians defeat to turn on Mussolini, and Germany never did turn on Hitler. God knows what it will take to get citizens of the US to turn on Trump and the GOP at a large enough scale, but it took the Bonus Army to turn on Hoover over the economy.
