Hopefully you get paired with a decent roommate that respects boundaries. Other than that, a lot of it is basic common sense. Don't make it easy for someone to take your things. Keep track of your stuff. Stay organized, don't leave clothing and valuables lying all over your room. Don't lend items to others. Don't leave your clothes unattended in the laundry room. But sometimes no matter what you do, things happen. Other than leaving the items at home, there's really no foolproof way to prevent theft if someone really wants your stuff.

I still have them too, including the iron ons, the circle shoe labels and the rectangular ones. |

Not the Lulu! LMAO!
I was thinking Hermes bangles, a crossbody Chanel. Thanks, OP. lol |
my dorm was at least the 1950s, all cinderblock walls including interior walls |
| Yes. No one touches her stuff. |

Relax, no one is going to steal used Lululemon and Alo gear. If they do, then they're probably not above stealing no-name jackets and sneakers - in that case, nothing is safe.
If your daughter is bringing Chanel/Gucci/YSL bags or Cartier/Van Cleef jewelry to school, I would worry more about her becoming a target. Most college girls own some Lululemon and Alo. |
We have those too! I think they have a teddy bear on them next to the name. I’m sure my SD would love that. Lol |
This! Alo and Lululemon is absolutely prime theft material. Wanted by many, yet common enough that no one could be sure it’s theirs if someone else steals and wears it. It’s unlikely roommates would steal it out of your drawers, but if you leave it in a dorm dryer all day- yeah, some things will go missing |
| My kid’s boarding school expelled a student for theft. It was a lot of money too. |
My dorm was so old, the door to the hall didn’t lock! We did have food from the fridge stolen, but nothing else. |
Np. For some people these are designer items. So try -just try- not being a smug elitist. |
| Alo and Lulu are not designer. OMG |
OMG what is wrong with you? You have to be a troll. No one is stealing your kids sweaty shit clothing. |
"the theif was an Asian girl" Why did you feel the need to show us you are racist? Theft has been a part of college forever this is nothing new. Leaving your stuff in the dryer that is on you for being stupid. You bring your books and you study when your shit is in the laundry. Anyone with a brain knows this. |
nobody is stealing your laundry. They move it because you are not there when the load is done. |
