| Watching a few southern sorority TikToks my daughter shared with me, I told her no way is she bringing designer items to school next year, not that she has many. I'm concerned kids will steal her Alo and Lululemon gear. I was a sucker that I bought for her. When I went to school kids might steal my food in the fridge, none of us had fancy gear. |
| Lol, everyone is bringing All and Lulu to school. That's ... not considered designer. The Row or a Berkin would be items to steal. |
+1 Her lulu and Alo will be safe. |

Hahaha I thought this was about designer items not sweatpants.
What else would she bring to college? What school is she going to that leggings and sweatshirts are luxury that you fret might be stolen? |
| Things will get stolen in a dorm roommate situation if the kid is casually showy and doesn’t pay attention to her stuff and locking door etc. my adhd has no idea where she put stuff, maybe it was lost maybe it was stolen. I would not send anything she isn’t going to tolerate losing or isn’t going to know where it is most of the time. For instance, send her with a carrier love bracelet if she won’t take it off. My dd brought some David yurman bracelets which was less expensive but were taken (she thinks) when she left one on a treadmill and one on her dresser in the dorm. She has an expensive but non labeled winder coat - ie woolrich not Canada goose. She is aware of where that large coat is most of the time and it isn’t as “popular” on campus so is less of a target. I would not send with items like Chanel wallet on chain that she would only carry while going out and otherwise be highly desired and sitting in her room. Also bring a lock box to tuck away for expensive small things. |
| OP is a troll. Lululemon. Alo. Really? |
| DD had one suitemate press charges against another suitemate for stealing jewelry and clothes (which the thief kept in the same suite - so it was easy to prove the theft). Lead to grand theft! and expulsion. |
| But Lulu and ALO -- perfectly safe. And it's literally 98% of my kid's and roommates' daily wear. |
Those brands aren't considered "designer" OP and no one is stealing them. |
| A parent in the VCU Parents group posted that someone stole their kids Ovi Jersey. |
| People will steal anything from Old Navy to Hermes. Pay attention to your things, don't leave them laying around, label them, and think twice before you send things you can't afford to replace. And do have a lockbox of some kind, for jewelry, passport, medication, cash, etc. |
| Before they head off in August, sew your kids initials onto the labels |
Unless your kid is jetting off every weekend or is an international student, why take passport to college? |
Or get some Mabel's Labels
