Was just going to add SSA. WaPo announced even more cuts (beyond the original 13%) this week. We’ve been operating under an acting commissioner (a total DOGE sycophant), but I think if Frank Bisignano (who is known for absolutely slashing people from orgs) gets confirmed this week we’re in for a massacre.

What is crazy is we’re at a 50 year staffing low to begin with despite workloads being so high. And there’s no way our old computer systems can be updated with AI overnight. But they seem to want to break the system altogether.

They have done plenty. Just because you aren't aware of it yet does not mean it is not in the works. DOJ is a large agency so implementing changes and dealing with logistics isn't going to happen right away -- but the plans are very much in place for some litigating divisions, and still being considered for others.
