I’m proud to be a “democracy touting” democrat. Thank you for the compliment. |
He is, but appropriately depending on topic and circumstances. |
We’ve already witnessed this administration in action, recklessly dismantling probably 75 - 80% of what most of us grew up believing were sacred, immutable protections embedded in our system of government. And they’re not even done yet. At this point, the only people who could possibly support this widespread collapse are (1) very wealthy individuals with a minimum of hundreds of millions of dollars in the bank, or (2) complete, unabashed, and irredeemable f’ing morons whose own mothers must rue the day they were conceived. PP, check your bank balance and let us know which one of these two groups you’re in. |
To the person who wrote about the Trump house raids: I agree.
1) I agree that it was bad. It also looked bad. It was abusive 2) Re POTUS assault prosecutions in NY: I don’t believe that lady who came out of nowhere. The State was way too eager. The case immediately looked very political to me. Her story and the details were ridiculous. Those statute of limitation laws were meant for child victims. The State is now using those laws are now using those laws to “get” defendants. We should repeal them bc the risk for State abuse is too high. 3) In addition, I think people got hysterical about the crimes of January 6. It was a political protest. It involved a mob with lots of property damage and serious trespassing. No insurrection. these bubbas should not have been put in jails and away from their children for years and years. Jailtime is a very extreme punishment and should be done rarely and for short periods of time. I also think many federal crimes are bizarre. They over-used 4) Hypocrisy is what politicians and those in power do. Their extreme metaphors seldom hold up. so, yeah — a democrat. female; we also need your vote! |
Ps. Obama was not good on several criminal issues and his DOJ was very aggressive on security things. For instance, he did not repatriate defendants detained in Gitmo— even when when the US had no evidence against them. There are many more examples of shocking things the government did for those eight years. He was not a prefect president by any means. |
The two parties used to be very similar. That was the major complaint by voters in the past.
That wasn’t working for one party: So they went far right. Then the other party disintegrated. The End. |
The way during Biden s term Columbia University dragged out students when studying? For their silent sign ? The harvard crimson covered it During Biden. Where were u then! |
Universities were ground zero on quashing speech for five years. |
I am relieved Obama is speaking out. We desperately need some leaders. So thank you these days to Cory Booker, Bernie, AOC, and now Obama for his words.
But, really, IT'S ABOUT TIME. And come on, Democrats!! Where are the rest of you?! |
He is concerned about speech??
UC schools, Columbia, and others on the east coast — they were all over the place with free speech. Just spend ten minutes googling it. This is prior to the national presidential election. At the same time … Companies also threw out an “ personal time “ speech courtesy privileges. They fired a lot of people during the pandemic. This also soften the norms on protected speech (of course companies can do what they want but the volume of the public firings was very high!) |
You totally lost me here if you think Jan 6 was about property damage and trespassing. They were trying to prevent the transition to new government. |
I just re read the clinton gore book |
Good lord, people.
Trump is a lifelong criminal and conman. The charges brought against him were leigimate - he stole classified documents and left them in unsecure places where anyone coming to his "club" could access them. He refused to return them when asked and it took a corrupt Trump appointee to delay the case enough for it to go away. It also took a corrupt Supreme Court to insulate Trump from the J6 charges. And now, we are seeing what happens when a corrupted man regains office and is aligned with our enemies to destroy the country from within. |
There were plenty of guns (and convictions there in) with people in the US Capitol that day. |
+1. The PP conveniently ignored the part where the Jan 6 terrorists bludgeoned a Capitol police officer to death, maimed several others and Trump pardoned them anyway. |
