+1. Best President of my lifetime. I’m glad he’s speaking out now. People are at a loss of what to do with this unprecedented attack on govt and our economy.

And what did he do as president?

“Obamacare” really done by Congress and started way before he was elected.

He did safe the auto industry.

What else?

Raised two beautiful educated daughters. His wife promoted healthy eating before RFK brainwork showed up, he worked well with our friends and allies, he won the Nobel peace prize, he had a magnificent portrait painted, he promoted the Arts, he was fit and healthy, he stepped down gracefully at end of his term, he was honorable and inspired loyalty from his staff, his White House photographer doted on him via photos l, etc. etc

That made him a good father and neighbor. The Nobel prize was an odd win for him. He may have had a good heart, but that isnt enough to make a good president. He dropped the ball on transparency and getting ACA through before the midterms. Bill Clinton could’ve gotten it done. I stand by my position the Obama would’ve done much better had he gotten more experience in Congress or as a governor or big city mayor before he became President. At best, he was OK.

What? But Bill Clinton didn’t get it done. Wasn’t that Hilary’s special project at the time? Didn’t people complain that Hilary — as First Lady — shouldn’t be involved in policy to that extent?

The point is that he COULD HAVE had he wanted to. And yes, universal healthcare was Hilary’s thing. But I don’t think he saw how that could be practically implemented. 🤷‍♀️

Correct. It wasn't something Clinton wanted (or could) spend political capital on to achieve.

Obama decided to speak up a little bit about what is going on and I thought he made some good points. The main take away is that most of us have never had to fight for free speech and democracy in our lives and that it might require sacrifice and getting uncomfortable to save it.

Hilarious how Barack talks about that's what happens in Russia. The lack of self-awareness on the DNC's part is stunning.

Mr. Obama, let us charge you in five criminal and one civil case in different states, raid your house with a SWAT team, arrest and fingerprint a former president, try to get a presidential candidate thrown off the ballot in three states, and have the number three at the DOJ exit and go to a prosecution team against you, and impeach you twice, attempt to assassinate you and on and on and on.

Happens in Russia? You mean, it happens here in the USA for the first time.

A little perspective on the TRUE current state of events, democrats.

Message to all you "democracy" touting democrats.... you tried to take out the king, figuratively and literally. You missed.

If you want a king, go back to England, asshat.

Well, you did try to coronate a queen by not holding an open primary, and then spent $1.2B trying to make her a legitimate candidate.

Fortunately, the American people voted.

For instance, he did not repatriate defendants detained in Gitmo— even when when the US had no evidence against them. There are many more examples of shocking things the government did for those eight years. He was not a prefect president by any means.

He couldn’t close GITMO because Congress passed a law that prevented the prisoners being brought into the US.

THIS. I’m sick of the bird brained sycophants on this thread that give Obama a pass then and now.

Trump makes every former President look amazing

Come on, Buchanan, Polk, and Harding fans!

Now is your time!

Polk promised to serve only one term, served his four year term admirably, and then kept his promise of not seeking a second term.
Can you imagine Trump or Biden having the integrity and introspection to realize they aren't fit to capably carry out all duties of the presidency for four years?

You know Trump was running a shadow Presidency that whole time under Biden. These are not normal times.

But I had a feeling Polk didn't belong on that list. His name was just fun to say.

Andrew Johnson belongs on this list. He was still worse than Trump 1 but Trump 2 has surpassed him.

But they did elect him, both by popular vote and the electoral college. So that makes him a legitimate president.

Choose a better candidate next time. Or better yet, maybe Biden should have kept his promise to serve only one term.

The rapidly growing influence of money in politics over the past 15 years has given our Federal level politicians no choice but to prioritize serving the needs of their wealthy mega-donors ahead of service to the American people. The influence of money in politics is the greatest long term threat to our people and form of government.

And Obama got hell for correctly pointing out that this was exactly what was going to happen at the State of the Union.

Those of you who don’t like OP’s clip, try this one.

Yeah, I had thought Johnson.

But you're right. It's hard to concentrate on these others with Trump 2 around.

Oh, no. There are remedies. We don’t have to wait until the next election.

Well, you tried impeachment twice, but that didn't work. If you're implying something illegal as a remedy, that was also tried twice.

The thought of legitimate presidents scares the heck out of the idiots that think 80 year old people should be president.

What makes President Trump illegitimate? He met the qualifications, wasn't disqualified from running, and was duly elected by both the electoral college and the popular vote.
