You’re right. Says he’s a DCPS assistant principal “at present”. Seems unlikely |
Very surprised someone didn’t discover this soonet |
Perhaps he wasn't convicted. I can't imagine him getting through the background check if he was convicted of the charges. |
90% of the parents literally voted for this |
Hearst parent here. What? |
OMG what a weird guy. He has never been an AP at Hearst. I am a Hearst parent. Why does he say so on his LinkedIn? How could Hearst and DCPS hire someone who was under the police investigating for hitting a child?!? |
What are you even saying? What does PTA fundraising have to with staffing? |
Did some digging around- sounds like after the incident in Baltimore which didn’t make it to trial he then became a DCPS AP, then a math interventionist at Hearst ES last year, then a 4th grade ELA teacher at Hearst ES this year. |
Then you must be new to DCPS. This pretty much tracks a lot of what goes on in DC schools. |
What school was he an AP at? |
Also, why is Dr. Chen leaving ? Didn’t she just become principal there like last year ? |
He posted a picture somewhere that I think said Takoma. |
It’s the unions! A relative was a superintendent and she said she couldn’t fire a teacher who allegedly physically hurt a student because of the union! Another teacher who allegedly did something sued, got a huge settlement and was able to teach elsewhere. This was not in the DMV. |
A friend of mine was interviewing candidates for a Principal role at a DC elementary school. Friend googled one of the candidates on receiving the resume and first result was the guy having been suspended and criminally charged for failure to report abuse. Dude was using his middle name instead of his last name on his resume. My friend spotted this and reported it to the senior leaders. Who yelled at my friend for googling a candidate. Some nitwit in the school office tried to argue it was an HR violation to review any materials not provided by the school. They were more upset that my friend googled than they were about having advanced to the interview stage a candidate awaiting trial for failure to report abuse.
So, yeah, not shocked that Hearst decided to hire someone arrested for alleged abuse. And not shocked that the admin is doubling down. To do anything else would be a tacit admission that they screwed up. They will go down with this ship. They'd rather a kid get abused than be embarrassed. |
She had a rough go of it from what I have heard. Not all APs are meant to become Principals. She is completely leaving DCPS. |
