Unsurprisingly, "Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito dissented, saying in part that the court didn't have the authority to weigh in at this stage."

I mean.. at what stage should the court weigh in? After the fact? Pretty clear that they are stooges.

I've said it before and will say it again:

In any advanced democracy Clarence Thomas would have already been forced to resign.

This isn’t a race thing. Italians have indeed been targeted.

“The Alien Enemies Act has been invoked three times, each time during a major conflict: the War of 1812, World War I, and World War II. In World Wars I and II, the law was a key authority behind detentions, expulsions, and restrictions targeting German, Austro-Hungarian, Japanese, and Italian immigrants based solely on their ancestry. “ - Brennan Center

Last I checked most of those are white.

Whites were rounded up in horrible internments camps during WW II. It was not just the Japanese. And whites were the only ones thrown into internment camps during WW I. People lost their jobs, died of illness, even disappeared in the camps.

While there have been many, many, apologies to the Japanese over the internment camps, white people have never received any apology whatsoever.

As Alito said in his previous dissent, there is no case properly before the Supreme Court. They gave a ruling without having jurisdiction to hear the case.
Presumable the stage the court should weigh in is when an appeals court has ruled and someone appeals that ruling.
The Supreme Court does this all the time when district judges issue nationwide injunctions against Trump, particular Barrett not wanting to use the emergency docket.

Everything is an "emergency" under this administration. They 2 week temporary restraining order on laying off federal employees is also "an emergency" to them. A lot of this seems like people that never learned how to delay gratification or how to take no as an answer as children.

Some guy I know on FB was writing about how the Sup Ct's decision gives Trump all the authority he needs to institute - and yes, this is how he put it - "Marshall Law"

So I guess that's MAGA's takeaway here

Do we think that Trump will follow the Sup Ct's decision? And if not - well

Gabbard has now fired the employees responsible for the truthful assessment that the Venezuelan government is not waging war against the United States, and her wackadoo chief aide Joe Kent is ordering rewrites of intelligence assessments based on right wing conspiracy theories and GOP political expediency.
