| W&M does not admit by major. You might get some small boost by choosing a major they are trying to keep populated (e.g. Anthropology), but it likely wouldn't be much. You are free to declare your major later. Virginia Tech does admit by major, but it would probably be similar in that you could choose one they are trying to keep populated (e.g. English). Someone else can comment on difficulty in changing major. Check the back of the Common Data Set for # and % of graduates by major. |
+1 |
Could also help to be applying to a new program they are starting up -- coastal and marine science and public health will be new in Fall 2025 |
Can you say, "I am an idiot"? |
From sociology to finance. They clearly picked sociology for admission purposes. |
Interestingly, W&M's test score ranges and percent submitting are higher than many more "competitive" schools like BC, Wake Forest, etc. Their applicant pool has always been very self selecting and highly qualified. Also interesting is the fact that they recently increased the size of the student body and have had no problem filling those new spots. |
This link shows that it has become harder to get into W&M since 2001. “Not competitive.” “You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.” |
Well, the Coastal and Marine science will be an interesting one because it has full pay scholarships thanks to a $50M donation. |
| Keep in mind it is very hard to change your major at Tech so be sure that they pick something the at least are interested in pursuing |
you get paid per post? on here all the time boosteratti |
You need to seek help.... |
Agree. So sick of the anti-W&M poster, who is almost as bad as the anti-BC poster. Stop spewing your nonstop, nasty garbage here. You and your ilk have ruined the College forum this year. |
DP: This is clearly all they have, I unfortunately feel sorry for them |
Exactly. Nice callback. 😀 |
From social work to finance -- that is rich! Economics maybe, but finance? Should be ashamed |
